Out of the quiet, inevitability of the Stress Fracture series comes the playful Biomorphic series in which I reintroduce color, cutting and stitching.  I use painted paper tiles like train track pieces making loops, circles and sinuous shapes.  Depending on the arrangement of the tiles, the shapes look like protozoa or messages in an unknown language.  As I make the tiles, the designs grow and wander, offering many possibilities that I eventually fix into a permanent design.
