Bargello Refractions, 2016-17

In these first Bargello works, I screen-printed the image onto stained paper rather than hand painting it (Infinite is the exception).  Then I cut the paper, reassembled the design and sewed together the new constructions as if they were quilt tops.  These works reference and isolate the formal elements in functional items, but are technically useless.  The works both ask and answer the question, “What is the point?”
